Texas State Capitol
No
trip to Austin would be complete without a trip to the nation's tallest
state capitol. Built over a three-year period between 1885 and 1888, the majestic
granite building at the head of Congress Avenue has been the focal point
of state government for more than a century.

Governor's Mansion
Now
a registered National Historic Landmark, it is the oldest executive
residence west of the Mississippi, fourth oldest in the Nation, and oldest
to survive and function essentially in its original configuration. The Governor's Mansion is a reminder of the proud people who forged
a great state out of a vast frontier.

LBJ Library & Museum
One
of ten presidential libraries administered by the National Archives and
Records Administration, the LBJ Library houses forty million pages of
historical documents including papers from the entire public career of LBJ. The museum provides year-round public viewing of its permanent
historical and cultural exhibits.

The Bob Bullock Texas State History Museum
Experience
Austin's newest interactive museum dedicated to the history and spirit
of the Lone Star State. The museum includes 41,000 square feet of exhibits, the special effects Texas
Spirit Theatre, Austin's only IMAX Theatre, Museum Store and Story of
Texas Café.
