Tour the beautiful grounds of the legendary French Legation. Built in 1840, the house served as a diplomatic outpost for the French representative Monsieur Dubois, a symbol of France's recognition of Texas as a Republic. Also view the accompanying carriage house and authentic Creole Kitchen. The site has been restored by the Daughters of the Republic and is the oldest extant frame structure in Austin.

Open Tues-Sun from 1pm-4:30pm.
